I am ALVA

“I have been thinking about it for some time. I would to call myself by the name ALVA. ALVA, because I am the inventer of the ghost box, the conch shell, the house of unattached voices.”

'I am ALVA' was a collaborative project between Sophia Ioannou Gjerding and Xenia Xamanek Lopez, which deals with the voice as a prosthetically separated element from the body, as well as landscape as simulation in relation to the idea of nature.

The film was screened as part of a collaboration between DIAS Kunsthal, ARKEN Museum of Modern Art and ORAUM. The project was supported by the Danish Art Council.
